Remix in Egypt, Again!
The 4th Arab youth Music platform
“Remix Plus” will be held in Cairo during the period from 6
to 15 November 2008 and will involve 17 musicians and composers
from Jordan, Egypt, Tunis, Palestine, Syria and morocco and will
focus on music composition and improvisation.
“RemixPlus” is organized by Al
Mawred Al Thaqafy and will be artistically led by the Jazz
composer Toufic Farroukh and the oud player and composer
Charbel Rouhana from
Lebanon and
the Egyptian Composer Fathy Salama. The platform will
take place in Cataract Pyramids Resort and will conclude with a
concert in El Genaina Theatre on Thursday13 November
within the events of The Jazz Factory Festival.
Remix is a creative encounter for musicians from different
countries and diverse music traditions, oriental and western. It
gives the participants the opportunity to experience new musical
styles, to experiment with each other and perform to a wide
audience.
