Production Awards Program for Young Creative Arab Artists The Production Awards program is designed to support young Arab artists under the age of 35 in the fields of literature, music, video, film, theater, and visual arts. The creation of new works in these diverse genres will ultimately lead to the generation of new ideas and forms of creative expression, which will circulate throughout the Arab region and animate theatres, concert halls, galleries, and other cultural spaces, to the benefit of artists, audiences, and communities alike. This program aims to encourage and support a new generation of Arab artists and writers by providing financial support of up to $5000 USD for their early projects in the various fields of arts and culture. Culture Resource (Al Mawred Al Thaqafy) also provides young creators with advice on managing their productions and promoting them. Projects for support are selected through an annual open call for applications, and an evaluation by independent juries composed of experts in their respective fields. Since the program started in 2004, 78 awards have been given, and the number of awards granted has doubled from 7 awards in 2004 to 15 in 2010.
